Cool Kids Program
Cool Kids ASD - an adaptation for high functioning children on the autistic spectrum between 6 and 8 years old.
New Program begins on the 22 February 2012
All About Kids QLD is pleased to offer a research based Anxiety Prevention Program for parents, children and adolescents who are experiencing stress, worry, fear and anxiety related difficulties.
The Cool Kids Program is a scientifically tested program that teaches children and their parents how to better manage their anxiety. It is a group program involving the participation of both children and their parents, and focuses on teaching clear and practical skills. Macquarie University research results indicate that around 80% of young people who complete these programs show significant improvement. Following treatment, there are marked increases in school attendance, academic achievement, confidence, number of friends and involvement in extra-curricular activities and decreases in worry, fear and family distress.

COGMED Working Memory Training –––– 
An Evidence-based intervention for improved working memory
All About Kids QLD is now offering this well researched working memory training. Cogmed Working Memory Training is an evidence-based program for helping children, adolescents, and adults sustainably improve attention by training their working memory. The program is based on strong scientific research, is delivered under the supervision of a qualified Cogmed Coach, and can be done either in the convenience of the client’s home or at a designated healthcare facility.
Benefits of Training Working Memory
Working memory is critical for focusing, appropriately shutting out distractions, and for complex thinking. Improved working memory capacity generalizes to improved attention, and impulse control. 8 of 10 users who complete training show measurable effects.
The benefits for Children - Research and clinical data show improved grades following Cogmed training. Parents and teachers also report improved social skills, taking initiative, remembering instructions, and completing assignments more independently.
The objective is better academic results, particularly in reading comprehension and math.
